Promoting Wellness With Massage
Stress/Tension Massage
Research has found that stress affects every part of your body and when you carry too much tension, it may lead to muscle stiffness and pain throughout your body.
Stress is also linked to headaches, fatigue, stomach problems, and difficulty sleeping.
Massage therapy helps lower blood pressure as well as the heart rate, reducing the strain on your heart and helping you maintain a healthier circulatory system.
Prenatal/Postnatal Massage
Prenatal massage can relieve back pain and will improve your sleep and overall mood. Other benefits can include decreased stress and may reduce labor complications.
The key to getting the most out of your prenatal massage is to understand that your prenatal health extends long after your baby is born so it is vital to maintain not only optimum health during the pregnancy but after the birth, you will need to beware of how your body and mind are reacting. Now is the time to take care of yourself and the changes your body is undergoing.
Chronic Pain Massage
Therapeutic massage is an active area of research and has been studied for its effect on pain in the back, hands, neck, and knees, among other areas.
Therapeutic massage will relieve pain including painful muscles, tendons, and joints; relieving stress and anxiety, which is part of chronic pain that you have dealt with for years
Hello! I’m Faith
Licensed Massage Therapist
Over 10 years ago, I started on a Nursing path as I desired to do nothing more than to be a healer, of sorts, for those who were in crisis with their physical selves.
However, I quickly came to understand that to fully reach those who were in need of physical relief of chronic pain they were experiencing, I could relate much of my traditional Chinese teachings of meridian points and the way the body is designed to work together as a cohesive unit through massage therapy. Armed with the traditional Chinese teaching of meridian points and taking into account modern massage techniques I was able to quickly establish a unifying principle that addresses client needs that gave them back a quality of life prior to the pain they were currently experiencing.
My mission is yours; giving you the freedom of mobility from pain you may be experiencing. As is my motto, “When You’re in Pain, the World Stops, But I Listen.” Let me help to give you back your freedom from pain today.

Back Tension
Read More
Muscle and Back tension refers to the condition in which muscles of the body remain semi-contracted for an extended period. Muscle tension is typically caused by the physiological effects of stress and can lead to episodes of back pain.
Stress may change the body’s nervous system by constricting blood vessels and reducing blood flow to the soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, and nerves in the back. This process causes a decrease in oxygen and a buildup of biochemical waste products in the muscles, resulting in muscle tension, spasm, and back pain.
Muscle tension is typically treated using nonsurgical options to relax the muscles including exercise, water therapy, and heat therapy.

Shoulder and Neck Pain
Read More
The neck and shoulders are complex and interconnected areas, and medical problems that affect one often affect the other, as well. Pain and dysfunction from injuries or conditions that impact the joints, muscles, and other structures can easily spread from the neck to the shoulder(s) and from the shoulder(s) to the neck and scapula.
These body parts share bones, muscles, connective tissues, and nerves, making it easy for pain to radiate throughout the area.
Ankle and Knee Pain

Sprains are injuries where a ligament is stretched or torn within a joint. Common places you might have a sprain can include your ankle, knee, and wrist. In severe sprains, the ligaments can be partially or completely torn – sometimes leading to surgery. Treatment for sprains often involves rest and physical and massage therapy.
Deep Tissue Massage
Read More
A type of massage in which the fingers, thumbs, and elbows are used to release chronic muscle tension, using slow, deep strokes and friction; the therapist may work perpendicularly to the length of the fibers of the superficial muscles, with the intent of massaging muscle that lies underneath. The therapy borrows from other forms of bodywork, including Chua ka, cross-fiber friction massage, deep tissue sculpting, Hellerwork, Rolfing, and others; it is believed to increase blood flow and to be of greatest use in problem muscles for pain, rehabilitation, and arthritic complaints.

Massage is an effective treatment to reduce scarring after injury. Scarring is the natural healing process of damaged tissues. The body produces collagen fibers and sends them to repair around an injury site. Collagen fibers differ in texture from normal tissue fibers. Collagen is tough in texture and lays across the direction of muscle fibers.
Chronic Back Pain
Read More
The definition of the chronic lower back pain is established by the persistence of pain beyond 3 months of symptoms. Very often, the pain is “non specific”, meaning related to a mechanical origin.
The main factors inducing the pain to become chronic are individual factors, psychological factors or socio-professional factors. The socio-professional factors are often much more influential than the physical factors.
The overwhelming element of treatment is physical exercise. Other methods of treatment like cognitive therapy, behavioural therapy and multidisciplinary rehabilitation can also lead to significant improvements.

Tennis Elbow
Read More
Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is a painful condition that occurs when tendons in your elbow are overloaded, usually by repetitive motions of the wrist and arm.
Despite its name, athletes aren’t the only people who develop tennis elbow. People whose jobs feature the types of motions that can lead to tennis elbow include plumbers, painters, carpenters, and butchers.
The pain of the tennis elbow occurs primarily where the tendons of your forearm muscles attach to a bony bump on the outside of your elbow. Pain can also spread into your forearm and wrist.
Migraine Massage

More than just the cause of “really bad headaches,” migraine is a neurological condition that can cause multiple symptoms. While intense, debilitating headaches frequently characterize it, additional symptoms may include:
- nausea
- vomiting
- difficulty speaking
- numbness or tingling
- sensitivity to light and sound
The condition often runs in families and can affect all ages. People assigned female at birth are more likely than people assigned male at birth to be diagnosed with migraine.
The diagnosis of migraine is determined based on clinical history, reported symptoms, and by ruling out other causes. The most common categories of migraine headaches (or attacks) are episodic versus chronic, and then those without aura and those with aura.
